Combes and Plateau, The plateau of the Maiche

A typical plateau in the Jura landscape

The plateau of Maîche, bordered by the rivers  Doubs and Dessoubre, is a mountain limestone rock plateau which lends itself perfectly to leisure activities and the discovery of the Jura landscape. Located in the north of the mountains, this plateau peaks at a little more than 1,000 metres altitude. It faces Switzerland and the tumultuous Doubs river marks the border limit.

The country of the Comtois horse and the watchmaking tradition

A true fun area for nature lovers and families in search of leisure and relaxation, the plateau of Maîche is the birthplace of the Comtois shire horse. The business brought additional income to the farmers of the area.
