The Grandvaux, or the mildness of the Jura mountains
The Grandvaux has the appearance of the Far North with its pine forests and scattered hamlets. Once you have been there, you will get attached and nothing will keep you away from enjoying its ideal landscape and sporting activities. In winter, many cross-country ski runs at an accessible altitude. In summer, the country roads are ideal for cycling.
Coolness and relaxation
When the weather gets really hot, you can cool down in one of the many forests for a hike, with nearly 200 kilometres of signposted trails.
The Lac de l’Abbaye is also the ideal place to cool off in exceptional settings.
For nature lovers
fishing enthusiasts might be lucky enough to catch a trout in the Saine river, in Foncine-le-Bas. Nature lovers will also find their heart’s desire with several now protected peat lands, including that of Prenovel, named the peat land of Nanchez, which inspired the author Bernard Clavel for one of his novels.
