Meet up with friends in the early morning and keep an eye out for the very latest bike model. It looks like a good day ahead. The forest trails are fragrant and there is plenty of fresh air to take in before the harsh climb up the Côte du Grand Bois. Then there are some other tough climbs such as la Forestière, a legendary course for any mountain biker. After a crazy downhill where competition returns in the blink of an eye, dive blissfully into the turquoise lake with a big smile your face. Then gather around the barbecue with your happy tribe, you’ll be starving!

The routes are exceptionally well-marked and maintained by a network of club enthusiasts, ensuring there are walks where every picnic spot, thirst-quenching spring and charming village will be memorable.
Come On – The Mountains are Open
Between the Métabief resort which opens its ski lifts to mountain bikers, the Hauteville plateau, the 370 km of trails at the Centre Fédéral de VTT in Bugey and the Grandes Traversées du Jura, there are countless routes. However, between the maps, guidebooks and smartphone apps available, there’s no danger of getting lost in this big nature playground we call the Jura Mountains.
