Arbois is a town with many strings to its bow. The capital of Jura wines and the first winegrowing region to obtain AOC status in France, it has been officially recognised as a characterful town in Franche-Comté and a culinary heritage site, and was home to Louis Pasteur.

A rich cultural heritage: the Saint-Just church, winegrowers' houses, the Gloriette Tower, the Capucins Bridge, Château Pécauld, Louis Pasteur's house, the Vine and Wine Museum, the Sarret de Grozon Art Museum and more.

The area has many well-known figures whose talents are recognised with the national title "Best Artisan in France" (best chocolatier, photographer, cabinetmaker) or with Michelin Stars, not forgetting all the other professionals who honour local cuisine (restaurateurs, butchers, bakers and pastry chefs, support institutions, and more).

The town offers a varied programme of activities via its cultural centres, youth cultural organisations and tourist associations and offices, such as tours of the town and of Saint-Just church, exhibitions, theatre, music, cultural evenings, summer entertainment, sports and recreational activities.
